Install an application with one click
What you get: WordPress, PrestaShop, Nextcloud or Moodle running on your domain in a couple of minutes, without downloading anything or creating the database by hand.
Before starting
You need a already created site (Create a website). The application is installed within a site and served on its domain.
In the catalog there are two classes of application, and they are distinguished at first glance:
Those with the Install button: they are installed alone, with their database. They are the majority.
Those that instead of a button put «Installed manually via SSH»: they need Docker, Node or Composer, and that doesn’t fit in the installer. They are installed from your SSH user (Log in to your site via SSH). Ghost, Magento, Discourse, Gitea, Laravel, Symfony and Wekan are among them.
Some also have a “No database” label (Grav, DokuWiki): they store the content in files and no one is created for them.
Steps
Websites → Apps menu.
Find whatever you want. They are grouped by what they are used for: websites and blogs, online stores, cloud and productivity, forums, wikis, training, CRM.
Press Install.
In On which site, choose the site. If yours appears gray with «preparing.», wait a minute: it has just been created and is not yet ready.
The database data comes filled in. “You don’t have to prepare anything: the database is created automatically and the application is configured”. Change them only if you want other names.
Confirm and wait. You will see the progress in the task window.
How to check it worked
Open https://tudominio.com and the application must exit, not the welcome page of the empty site. Log in with the user the installer gave you and take a look around his administration panel.
In the site row, the Application button now tells you which one is installed.
If there is already something installed
The installer does not mix two applications in the same folder. If it detects one, it tells you clearly: “There is already an application here” and “ALL this will be deleted and there is no turning back (we save a copy first)”. You have to write the confirmation to continue.
Read it twice. We keep a copy, but retrieving it is a ticket, not a button.
Common problems
- My site comes up in gray and says “preparing.”
It has just been created and the server is still mounting it. It takes a moment; close the window, wait a minute and open it again.
- «There is already an installation underway for this site»
Only one thing is installed at a time in each location. Wait until the previous one is finished; if it has been stopped for a long time, write to us.
- “This server does not have a version of PHP that is suitable for that application”
The application requires a version of PHP that is not available right now. Check what versions you have in Change your PHP version, and if you are missing the one you need, let us know by ticket.
- «There is a symbolic link in the site folder»
A symbolic link can point outside your folder, so we never follow it. Delete it via FTP or with the file manager and reinstall.
- The application I want does not have a button, it only says it is for SSH
It is one of those that need Docker, Node or Composer. Create an SSH user on your site and install it from there following its documentation. Check out Log in to your site via SSH.
- I installed it over the previous app and want to restore the old version
We save a copy just before emptying. Ask for it by ticket with the domain and the installation time. See Backup copies: what is saved and how to recover it.
- I installed WordPress and the website appears blank or half-finished
It is almost always a short PHP limit for the topic or the plugin you have installed. Increase the memory in View and edit your PHP settings and try again.
- The application works but without a padlock, with a “not secure” warning
The certificate is requested alone, but it takes a few minutes and it needs the domain already pointed here. Look at The HTTPS lock of your website.
- I want to update the application
In the site’s row, button Application, and there you have the update button. Your topics, your uploaded files and your configuration stay where they were.
